Feeling Life

How long has it been since we really felt life? How many difficult times got in our way so all we could feel was the roughness of it with all its heaviness and complications? We are all burdened with having to deal with life, but when do we stop and allow ourselves to appreciate that we have gotten this far, wherever we are?

When do we tell ourselves that we will be okay in this world, we will make it? We need to put the pain aside so we can feel what our progress has been.Whether we believe it or not, almost all of us make progress. We do not stay in the same emotional spot all of our life. We move along our journey, we need to see all of it, not just the painful side but the results of getting through the pain. This is what makes it all worthwhile because when we can allow ourselves to feel a moment of true happiness, we know that this is all worth it. You see these are our growing pains. We never stop growing up, we just get to different levels of it.

Perhaps this is why we are supposed to stop and breathe for it can allow a little of the burden of life to drop down. Try it, just take a deep breath right now and when you exhale, blow out the pain. It does work if you believe it will. This allows us to have a moment to feel life again, to come out of our numbness or despair. The more we recognize that we go through this life with its ups and downs and it has no perfection to it, the more we feel life in a positive way.
